RADIESSE is an injectable filler that is placed within or just under the skin to correct facial lines, wrinkles and depressions, and to enhance the appearance of the lips and cheekbones. In most patients, Radiesse lasts more than a year. Dr. Laufer was one of the first physicians in the area to perform Radiesse treatments.

SOME EXCITING NEW USES FOR RADIESSE:  Radiesse can now be used for "VOLUME LIFTING," a technique that restores volume to the face lost to aging and the effects of gravity. Patients can augment and enhance the cheekbones, restore lost volume, and obtain a beautiful, more youthful look.

Radiesse can also be used to smoothe "jowling" along the jawline, and to reduce the sunken look under the lower eyelids ("tear-trough lines"). Radiesse can also be used to rejuvenate the hands. The back of the hands can be treated to plump-up and restore volume, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Radiesse has been in use for over 20 years for other medical procedures. It it made up of calcium hydroxylapatite in a carboxymethylcellulose gel. These are normal components of the body. Consequently, no allergy to Radiesse has ever been seen, and no skin testing is required prior to treatment. Over time, the gel dissipates and is replaced by the patient's own collagen and soft tissue. This results in long-lasting improvement and enhancement of the appearance.

Treatment is done in the office, taking a few minutes. Improvement is immeditate. There may be mild swelling after treatment, but make-up can be applied and most activities can be resumed immediately.

RESTYLANE is a filler used to correct more superficial lines and wrinkles, and to enhance the lips. The correction obtained usually lasts six months or more. PERLANE is used for deeper lines and furrows, and can last a year or more. Both fillers are composed of Hyaluronic Acid, a normal component of human skin. This means Restylane and Perlane are very safe to use.


Treatment is done through a simple office procedure. Improvement is immediate, and
make-up and normal activites can be resumed immediately. Juvaderm, Hylaform and Captique are other forms of hyaluronic acid, similar to Restylane and Perlane.
